However , I have started a national recreational,informational and inspirational program namely reciting the story of “Battle of Haldighati.” It is titled “Haldighati ke yudh ki gaathaa.” It is the highest story of heroism and gallantry after Mahabharat in the history of India .

But very few persons actually know the details of this story inspite of the most of the Indians having heard three names -- Maharana Pratap , Haldighati and Chetak . I give the full details – the causes ,the formations and the action details of the actual battle , the outcome and its implications and how Rana Pratap emerged as the hero of India out of this battle .

I recite this story in Hindi in the form of a delicious combination of prose and poetry in a way that being an audience one cannot help feeling being a spectator witness to the battle and also being swept away by a great emotional surge of nationalism , heroism , sacrifice etc since I try to present it in the form a running commentary of the battle .

The battle of Haldighati and the character of Maharana Pratap is a great example of patriotism , single minded determination and devotion to motherland .The recital of this story serves to promote these virtues in the mind of the audience .

In this story the contexts of the sixteenth century are taken up explaining the then circumstances and they are suitably linked and at times compared with the current situations and examples in order to bring home to the audience why Rana Pratap Singh waged his heroic struggle against all odds and at all costs.

This recital is highly suitable to my own taste because of my being a literary person and because of my hailing from “Charan”(Gadhavi in Gujarat ) community of Rajasthan .My community people have been doing ‘this kind’ of work( but NOT precisely THIS) generation after generation .

Thirty years back I had done this work on quite a big scale , but had to suspend it due to my service compulsions as an officer in a nationalized bank .However, I am happy to revive and restart it .

It takes two hours to recite this whole story . Minimum one hour and maximum two hours .The time taken can be reduced or expanded as per the need of the hour and the audience .

This is important that I recite this greatest story of valour in the history of this country after Mahabharat to the people of this country ,specially before the younger generation .

I have decided to undertake this humble exercise as a modern "haldighati' of my own to take on those who ,in the name of pseudo secularism and modernism ,are trying to malign the great and illustrious name of Maharana Pratap by using , in their attempt to glorify the then 'foreign invader' (in today's terms a "terrorist" leader) Jalaluddin Akbar , the terms like "vidrohi" ,"bhagoda" , "against the nation unifying attempt of Akbar" etc.

I have presented this programme at Patanjali Yogpeeth of Swami Ramdeoji on 16th August 2011 as also on 13th November 2011 at ,Goregaon ,Mumbai organized by Shivsena of Balasaheb Thakare ji .

I have already spoken at Jaipur (Raj), Varanasi (UP), Haridwar (Uttarakhand), Gurgaon (Hariyana), Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Mumbai (Maharashtra), Jodhpur and Bhilwara etc at educational institutes and other gatherings
